Nice when a little research tells you exactly what year something was made in. From Walter Helland’s obituary, from 2008. “In 1964, [Walter Helland] purchased the Furniture and Grocery Store in Alden, [MN] which he operated until he sold it in 1993.” That makes this mug one made in 1989, a fine year. Also a Taylor Swift album. I was 11. Living in Aberdeen, SD. Mug reads “It pays to drive a ways to Alden, MN. In business 25 years.”

I did not notice there’s a chip in the rim (last photo) until taking pictures. It’s on the non-drinking area, so doesn’t affect functionality. Price reflects this. Mug is 3.5” tall, 4.5” wide with handle.
