Early 20th Century Rust Craft Candy Recipes Cards | Made in Boston, MA

$45.00

A gorgeous box of candy recipe cards made in the early 20th century by the Rust Craft company out of Massachusetts. Rust Craft was one of the original greeting card companies, and they invented the Christmas card! This box of recipes has seen love over the last ten decades, adding love and warmth. The recipe cards themselves are in terrific condition. The box measures 5.75” x 3.75”. The cards are standard recipe card size. There’s an added bonus of the original gift tag inside, reading “A merry merry Xmas, from Robert Hormlund.” There is a Robert Holmlund who was born in 1911 in Minneapolis who died, killed in action in France during WWII in 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. I could not find anyone else that fit the timeline, so I would guess they are one in and the same.

You can read about his heroism here: PFC Robert Warner Holmlund (1912-1944) - Find a Grave Memorial

A fantastic gift for the antique loving baker in your life!
