Make sure you take a look at the second photo and see the subtle detailing on the lock. “OXOXO” it reads, which may have just been a design, or it may have been made for someone’s sweetheart. I didn’t find another example of this lock in my research. The wood is in great condition, but the velvet inside has seen better days. Nevertheless, this box is gorgeous and deceptive in its simplicity when you look at the detailing on the hinges and lock. The box is also pretty large, measuring 10” x 6”, and 2.5” high. I struggle with wanting to keep this one!
