I didn’t find any other examples of this particular artwork, but it looks similar in style to an artist who signed works “J. Hand.” This features a young boy and girl, in a boat, her holding a parasol, him strumming a ukelele. The impression is that these barely cogent children are having a date, because why not? The piece looks to have been glued and lacquered by some at home, as there are drips on the back. Measures 10.5” x 8.5”, on sturdy piece of solid wood. The lacquer has cracked throughout in rather appealing lines, you can see them in the second photo, where Leonard so thoughtfully shows them to you. They are not dark like that, it’s just the sun catching them.
